President DeFranco Student Leadership Scholarship was established to honor the transformative leadership of Superintendent/President Jeff DeFranco and his lasting impact on Lake Tahoe Community College and the broader South Lake Tahoe community.
Since joining LTCC in 2017, President DeFranco has led a period of remarkable growth and innovation—expanding access to higher education, strengthening student outcomes, and fostering meaningful community partnerships. His commitment to student success, equity, and opportunity has helped shape a stronger, more vibrant college for future generations.
This scholarship is designed to support and recognize students who demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a commitment to making a positive impact—both on campus and in the community.
One or more recipients will be awarded an annual scholarship to help cover tuition and other educational expenses. Students can apply by completing the LTCC common scholarship application during the Winter/Spring application period. The application will be available on the LTCC Scholarship page.
The President DeFranco Scholarship aims to continue his legacy by investing in student leaders who embody the same spirit of innovation, service, and dedication to community that defined his presidency.
